BIOGRAPHY

 Argentine composer José I. Del Fabbro was born in Rosario, Santa Fe on 1978.

 He studied piano at the Lincoln Provincial Conservatory of Music in the province of Buenos Aires.

 In the city of Buenos Aires, he graduated from the Faculty of Musical Arts and Sciences at the Universidad Catolica Argentina with the title of "Bachelor of Music, specializing in Composition.”

 He studied Electroacoustic Music and Contemporary Techniques with Pablo Cetta; Orchestration with Guillermo Scarabino, Marta Lambertini and Luis Arias; and Composition with Graciela Rassini, Julio Viera and Marta Lambertini.

 In 2007, he won 1st prize in the “Guillermo Graetzer” Latin American Competition for the Composition of Symphonic Works, awarded by the SADAIC on its 70th anniversary, for his symphonic piece Las noches y el techo (tres piezas para orquesta). 

 In 2008, he composed original music for the feature film El cielo elegido by Víctor "Kino" González.

 In 2009, his prize-winning work "Las noches y el techo (tres piezas para orquesta)", was premiered by Argentina’s National Symphonic Orchestra.

 In 2015, he was presented with the "José María Castro" award for best chamber work for his piece "Episodios Oníricos," written for flute, bassoon, French horn and trumpet.

 He has composed music for orchestra, chamber, solo instruments, and for Instrumens and live electronics.

 His works have been performed in prestigious cultural institutions throughout Buenos Aires as well as across and beyond Argentina.
